MEMORIAL
BELL TOWER
It
rises majestically in the centre of the town. One of the first monuments in
honour of the National Liberation in Bulgaria, built in 1878. The advance detachment of General Gourko entered Byala Cherkva on 6 July (24
June old style) 1877. The Russian liberating troops were welcomed by the
population and addressed with a moving speech by Irina Bacho-Kirova. She
started with donations by the Russian officers a fund for the construction
of the monument. The tower is 25 metres high. A clock bought with
money donated by the teacher Yoakim Vassilev was fitted to it in 1929. The
clock still works.

TO BACHO KIRO
Built
in 1976. Authors: Al. Apostolov, Arch. N. Antonov. There is a marble
memorial wall with the names of the 101 local participants in the April
Uprising of 1876 erected next to the monument.

to the inhabitants of Byala Chekva fallen in the battle of Dryanovo Monastery
in 1876 and the wars of 1885, 1912-1913 and 1915-1918. Inaugurated
in 1933.

THE
TREE WITH THE CROSS (THE REBELS' OAK)
It
is a cross, attached to the age-old oak in memory of the rebels in the
detachment of Philip Totyu.

WITH MEMORIAL PLAQUE
It
was put up in memory of the detachment of Hadji Dimitar and Stefan Karadzha
that passed by Byala Chekva in 1868 on its way to the Balkan Mountains.
MEMORIAL
SIGN IN HONOUR OF THE LIBERATION
A memorial plaque was put up in the place where the Russian liberating
troops were welcomed in 1877.
